Hometalk :: Rainwater Harvesting and self sustainable water feature
This was dug below grade, simulating the way water carves rocky terrain. I like the way plants grow in and along the bed, too. The designer is Bill Schnetz of Schnetz Landscape in Escondido.
Front yard landscape - dry creek bed using really cool limestone boulders and accent moss boulders. Decomposed granite in the back for a landing pad for the gates to both houses. This is a great use of space that doesn't drain well. Used the decomposed granite for function but gave it a washed out look for a more natural feel and look.
Dry Creek Bed Idea
Love the look of this one best....this could be good for the front drainage one near butterfly garden - lots of plants in there too

Love this! How would it work on a small scale? Interesting...
