The main characters include Casper the Friendly Ghost, Wendy the Good Little Witch, Nightmare the Galloping Ghost, and the troublemaking Ghostly Trio, who create many of the problems in Casper's adventures. For example in "Mother Goose Land," the Ghostly Trio runs amok in Mother Goose Land, and it's up to Casper and Wendy to stop their "fun." Like Casper the Friendly Ghost, Wendy is an opposite-type character, a girl witch who does good deeds.

The Batman/Superman Hour is a Filmation animated series that was broadcast on CBS from 1968 to 1969. Premiering on September 14, 1968, this 60-minute program featured new adventures of the DC Comics superheroes Batman, Robin and Batgirl alongside shorts from The New Adventures of Superman and The Adventures of Superboy. In the fall of 1969, the Pink Panther theatrical cartoons made their way to NBC television shown Saturday mornings via The Pink Panther Show. NBC added a laugh track to the original cartoons, with Marvin Miller brought on as an off-camera narrator talking to the Pink Panther during bumper segments featuring the Pink Panther and The Inspector together. Pink Panther shorts made after 1969 were produced for both broadcast and film release, typically appearing on television first.

The Beany and Cecil Show was a 1962 animated cartoon series created by Bob Clampett, based on a hand puppet TV show in the late 40's by Clampett. After 1962, the 26 shows (including 78 cartoons) were repeated on Saturday mornings for the next five years. Deputy Dawg is a deputy sheriff in the southern U.S. The other main characters are the'varmints Muskie Muskrat, Moley Mole, Possible 'Possum, Ty Coon, Vincent van Gopher, Pig Newton, Dawg's boss the Sheriff, and Mrs. Deputy. Much of the comedy focused around comical southern accents and stereotypical characteristics. Many of the storylines involve Deputy Dawg protecting his produce from Muskie and Vince, battling the peculiar locals, and trying to please the Sheriff.

The New Adventures of Superman is a series of six-minute animated Superman adventures produced by Filmation that were broadcast on CBS between 1966 and 1970. The 68 segments appeared as part of three different programs during that time, packaged with similar shorts featuring The Adventures of Superboy and other DC Comics superheroes. These adventures were the first time that Superman (and his guise of Clark Kent), Lois Lane and Perry White had been seen in animated form since the 1940s.
