Parchment paper is a staple in any baker's kitchen. It’s a baking paper that has been coated with silicone to provide a food-safe, non-stick surface that’s also heat resistant too. It helps to promote even baking and keeps desserts from sticking to the pan. Sometimes precut parchment sheets are the way to go but here’s a way to save some money and make your own! How to: line a round baking pan • Tear or cut off a sheet of parchment just slightly bigger than the cake pan. • Fold the parchment in half and then in half again so that it more closely resembles a square. • Fold the square into a triangle by folding up from left to right.
