106K views · 17K reactions | I already know what some people are going to say, because it truly makes some people so aggravated that I keep my little chicken coop clean 🙃🤣 but they’re like my children and you wouldn’t want your children stepping barefoot in 💩 would you? I seriously wish I had known this when I first started chicken keeping 😭it makes keeping their roosting bars so much easier to clean with a hose or pressure washer (just don’t get too close or you will splinter the wood) I use 2x4’s and hang using these hanging joist wall brackets I get from @homedepot. I’ll link everything in a story highlight labeled “roosting bars.” Pro tip: I round the sharp edges with my electric hand sander for extra comfort, because I seriously have zero chill. A quick wipe with vinegar and water spray and a shop paper towel every morning does the trick 😉 Lemme know if you have questions! #chickencoops #roosting | 𝐆𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝 | Facebook

1.8M views · 37K reactions | Should you build or buy your chicken coop/tractor? It may seem easier to buy a pre-made coop, but they always seem to be lacking in something! Size - most coops or tractors already made only support a handful of chickens. We currently have 40ish egg layers that free range during the day, so small space just wouldn't cut it. Weight - while I wanted the space to be big, I didn't want a tractor that would be immovable by myself. We constructed ours with as little wood as possible and utilized a tarp roof to keep it lightweight compared to its size. Height - I wanted to be able to move around in the tractor without hunching over or crawling around. It's about 6 feet at the peak 👍🏻 Versatility - all the roosting bars and nesting boxes are removable so the tractor can be used for a brooder, meat bird tractor, dog kennel, compost building, greenhouse (if tarp were changed to plastic) etc. Cost - this tractor comes out to about $650 including the cost of wheels. To buy a pre-made moveable coop of the same size would be much more expensive, not to mention heavier and harder to move. So it was a no brainer! We designed and built two of these chicken tractors about 3 years ago, and they are still going strong! 🔥 . #chickencoop #chickentractor #homesteading #countryliving #compost #chickenfarm #pastureraised #crazychickenlady #farmlife #pasturedpoultry #minifarm #backyardchickens #meatchickens #homestead #homesteadmamas #raisingchickens #freerangechickens #fresheggs #broilers | Reformed Acres | Facebook

ChickShaw - A Mobile Chicken Coop One Person Can Easily Move - Abundant Permaculture
Meet the “ChickShaw”: A mobile chicken house that one person can move (a lot) of chickens. Since the 19th century people have been moving people with rickshaws. By centering most of the “shaws” weight on the two back wheels, and pulling the front, it’s easy to move incredible amounts of weight. Thank you Asia! Because …
