Gel Printing With Fake Flowers (March Printing Challenge Idea #15)
Gel printing with floral shapes. For the gel printing prompt FLOWERS, Gelli Arts® artist Birgit Koopsen uses artificial flowers to create a detailed print that looks like a photograph. For the first layer, she used dark acrylic paint. Add slow-dry medium to the paint if you need to increase the working time. Birgit stamped the flowers into the wet paint, then let the paint dry before coloring the flowers with PanPastel. Since pastels are already dry, the pickup layer can be added immediately. Birgit placed the paper on the wet paint and used the Gelli Arts® Mini Placement Tool to get the print precisely in the middle of the paper. She left the paper on the plate for about half an hour. #gelliarts #gelplate #monoprinting #printmaking #gelliplate #marchprintingchallenge
Layered Botanical Gel Prints (ABC Printing Challenge Idea #12)
L is for LEAVES! Watch how Gelli Arts® artist Tara Axford varies the size and shapes of the leaves she uses on her gel printing plate and plays with composition and colors. Tara uses Golden Open transparent paints and a bamboo barren to press the paper onto the plate. TIP: Use tracing paper between first and second pulls to get a cleaner ‘ghost’ print. #gelliarts #gelprinting #printmaking #monoprinting #arteducation #gelplate #printingplate #abcprintingchallenge
Gel Printing With Vegetable Parts (ABC Printing Challenge Idea #22)
Q is for Q TIPS! V is for VEGETABLES! Gelli Arts® artist Birgit Koopsen uses vegetable parts that you would normally throw away after cutting a pepper, cabbage or celery to create gel prints with beautiful organic shapes. You can keep them in a closed box in the fridge for several days and make multiple prints before you have to throw them out. #gelliarts #gelprinting #printmaking #monoprinting #arteducation #gelplate #printingplate #abcprintingchallenge
