J.R.R.Tolkien's The Two Trees of Valinor ~ Telperion & Laurelin, the Silver Tree & the Gold Tree that brought light to the Land of the Valar in ancient times. They were destroyed by Melkor and Ungoliant the great spider. Morgoth/Melkor stabbed each of the trees with his spear, and Ungoliant drank them dry. But the last flower of Telperion and the last fruit of Laurelin were made by the Valar into the Moon and the Sun. Picture Credit: Julia Pelzer

The entrance to Alux Restaurant in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. It's a Mayan restaurant with a twist – tucked inside an old, dried-up cenote. As you walk down this stone staircase, you enter the cave which is full of winding pathways through the large restaurant, with separate private dining areas, a bar, and even a nightclub – all underground with the raw elements of the cenote surrounding you. Most importantly, the food was excellent, and so were the cocktails. Great for a romantic dinner.
