The British Red Cross and St John War Organisation Christmas Gift Shop was pronounced, 'Successful beyond all dreams', by the chairman of the committee. For one week only from Monday 30 November to Saturday 5 December, the shop in aid of the Prisoner of War Parcels Fund was held at McIlroy's Department Store, Cheapside, Reading.
