Zayane women practicing Ahidous in Middle Atlas(Morocco), 1944 🇲🇦
Ahidous is a dance with a mythical sense, practiced for a millennium and an integral part of our Moroccan artistic heritage. This dance is performed by the Amazigh tribes of the Middle Atlas and High Atlas Mountains, where women and men, linked together, form undulating circles accompanied by songs in Tamazight, rhythmed by the bendir (a traditional frame drum). This art form accompanies all the festivities in these regions, whether they are family or community celebrations. / ig: @oldmaghrib
